Short answer. Fundal Media runs paid acquisition, Klaviyo and Shopify conversion for fashion brands selling in the UAE and the wider GCC, including the luxury sleepwear, jewellery, modest wear and resort wear categories that Dubai does so well. For the UAE we plan for same day or next day delivery as the expectation, cash on delivery and Tabby or Tamara at checkout, Arabic and English creative, a gifting and Ramadan calendar rather than a European seasonal one, and a customer with very high spend and very high expectations. Published GCC case: Hissa Line, a luxury abaya label designed in Doha, from 5,000 to 70,000 a month in 60 days. We also take GCC brands into the UK and Europe. The team is based in Denmark, two to three hours behind the Gulf, and calls are taken in Gulf hours.
The UAE fashion customer
She spends more per order than almost any customer in the world, she shops on her phone, she expects the parcel today or tomorrow, and she may still prefer to pay cash at the door. She responds to luxury, exclusivity and gifting, and she has a calendar of her own: Ramadan and Eid, the winter season when the city fills up, and gifting moments throughout the year. Modest wear, resort wear, fine jewellery, sleepwear and luxury womenswear are categories where Dubai based brands have built serious businesses, and brands in those categories are a growing part of who we talk to and work with here.
Hissa Line, Doha
Our published GCC case is Hissa Line, a luxury abaya and modest wear label designed in Doha and shipping worldwide. The account went from 5,000 to 70,000 a month in sixty days, fourteen times the revenue, with the product, the price and the positioning left exactly as they were: the store first, then a rebuilt Meta account and a weekly creative cadence built around the label's own editorial imagery, then spend scaled into what was working. It is the clearest example we have of what a Gulf label with a strong product and strong imagery can do once it has an acquisition engine behind it.
What the store needs
AED pricing. Same day delivery in Dubai and next day across the Emirates, through a courier the customer knows. Cash on delivery as an option, with the cost of failed deliveries planned for. Tabby and Tamara for instalments, and Apple Pay. Arabic language support even if the creative is in English. And a returns process that is fast, because the customer expects the courier to collect.
What changes in the ad account
The UAE audience is small and high value, so broad targeting saturates quickly and the creative rotation has to be fast. English creative works well; Arabic creative reaches a customer English misses and is worth building once the market is proven. Luxury and gifting hooks outperform offer led ones. The Klaviyo calendar is built around Ramadan, Eid and the winter season rather than a European seasonal calendar, and SMS and WhatsApp are more important here than in Europe.
The wider GCC
Saudi Arabia is the largest market in the region and the natural second market for a UAE brand, with its own delivery, payment and creative considerations. Kuwait and Qatar follow. Each is launched as its own market with its own campaign, on the process in launching a fashion brand in a new market.
From the GCC to the UK and Europe
A growing part of our UAE work is taking GCC brands that are already large at home into the UK and Europe: luxury sleepwear, modest wear and jewellery brands with a strong GCC customer who want the same in London, Paris and Berlin. The store, the offer and the creative all change at that border, and we have run the reverse journey enough times to know where. The service is international expansion.
Working with us from the UAE
We are based in Denmark, two to three hours behind the Gulf, so the working days overlap almost completely and calls are taken in Gulf hours. Everything runs remotely, as it does for every client: a call every two weeks, a live dashboard and a written report every month. For a UAE brand that means an agency that knows the market, has run European and UK accounts for a decade, and has taken brands across the GCC to Europe border in both directions.
Questions on this
Is Fundal Media based in Dubai?
No. The company is Danish and both partners are based in Denmark, two to three hours behind the Gulf. Calls are taken in Gulf hours, everything runs remotely, and Gulf brands are a growing part of the accounts we run.
Which GCC fashion brands has Fundal Media worked with?
The published case is Hissa Line, a luxury abaya and modest wear label designed in Doha, taken from 5,000 to 70,000 a month in 60 days. Several more Gulf accounts are under NDA.
What is different about advertising fashion in the UAE?
Same day or next day delivery as the expectation, cash on delivery still in use alongside Tabby, Tamara and Apple Pay, Arabic and English creative, a Ramadan and gifting calendar rather than a European seasonal one, and a small, very high value audience that saturates quickly.
Can you take a GCC fashion brand into the UK and Europe?
Yes. Luxury sleepwear, modest wear and jewellery brands with strong GCC businesses are a growing part of our work, and the process is the same market by market sequence we run in the other direction.
