Short answer. Fundal Media runs paid acquisition, Klaviyo and Shopify conversion for fashion brands selling in France. For France we plan for a customer who buys on brand and aesthetics rather than urgency, creative in French with an editorial sensibility, the legally fixed soldes periods in January and June or July as the only real sale windows, Alma and PayPal at checkout, and a press strategy, because French fashion press still moves product. A client brand featured in Vogue Paris is on our home page.
The French fashion customer
She has taste and she expects the brand to have it too. Creative that works in the UK, with a discount and a countdown, reads as cheap in France. What works is editorial: the campaign imagery, the story of the house, the making, and copy that does not shout. She is also less likely to return than a German or British customer, and more likely to buy a statement piece at full price and wait for the soldes for the rest.
The soldes
France fixes its sale periods by law, in January and in June or July. Outside those windows discounting is restricted, and the customer knows the calendar. This is very good for a premium brand, because it removes the temptation to run a permanent sale, and it fits the fixed calendar we recommend anyway in discount discipline for premium fashion brands. Private sales to the list, ventes privées, are the French version of early access and they work.
What the store needs
French language product pages written by a French speaker, not translated. Alma for instalments and PayPal alongside card. Free returns with a French or EU returns address. French sizing. Delivery through a carrier the customer recognises, with Colissimo or a relay point option. And a press page, because the customer looks.
What changes in the ad account
A dedicated French prospecting campaign with French creative, hooks about the house, the making and the piece rather than the offer, and a slower budget ramp. Retargeting works well in France because the customer takes her time. The Klaviyo calendar follows the collections and the soldes, with ventes privées for the engaged segment.
Press and AI search
One of the client brands on our home page was featured in Vogue Paris. In France a press mention does more than it does almost anywhere else, both with the customer and with what AI assistants say when someone asks for a French brand recommendation. Getting the brand's facts consistent across the store, the press and the profiles is part of the Shopify work, as described in how fashion brands get recommended by AI search.
Belgium, Switzerland and Luxembourg
French speaking Belgium and Switzerland can share the French creative with their own store settings, shipping and payment methods. We have launched into all three, and Switzerland has its own page.
